From the cemetery to the north, following the coast, I've finally finished all the defensive rampart that protects the city from unwelcome guests.

There's a pair of defensive towers in the extremes, some accesses to inside the wall, stairs to access the upper part, sentry points and the tower bridge that acts as a defensive gate to protect the access to the commercial port.

The entry should be big enough to even allow drakkars to pass through, but none of the piers is big enough so I didn't tried.

All the wall is filled with workbenches at regular intervals to create a spawn proof area around the wall. Creatures can still get closer from their spawn places, but it's rarer. And due the thickness and height of the wall, most times will not aggro even if you are doing a viking rock concert just behind the wall.

Do you share this world file ever so others can walk through and see? Just wondering since you mentioned not making blueprints. Everything looks so fantastic! I am assuming this is all on one world. The detail and then combining of different materials.

Hi dmassimiani

Yes, all "Valheimberg" entries are the same city, in my personal single player world I started many years ago.

Regarding blueprints, I'm very bad at it, so far tried only once and was a disaster (even considering it was a big building). At the end I needed help from 3 people to port the sawmill to Val-Con. So, for the moment I doubt I'll try it again.

About sharing the world file, it's a future possibility. But not before I find the proper place to build the archives. I want to make some kind of big library building where I will log (in signs) all the inspirations or ideas from other people I used to build my city. I don't want to publicly share everything as if it was only my own creation; credit where credit is due. And its going to take still some time, I need to reach a place outside the radius of the most heavy-instance zones or its going to tank me.

But I can open it for connection so you can take a tour; if you want you can find me at Val-Con Discord and PM me. Take in mind though, most places are around 40k instances and the peak zones are 62k. I never built it thinking in performance 😅

I will take you up on that! My computer is a beast (literally built it custom JUST to attempt handling large Valheim builds...I play no other games )so it will either handle it ok or heat up my apartment lol. I have several locations in the 40-60 range myself.

Hi joti995. I'm glad you like it so much you want to have it (I guess you mean the fortified bridge). Unfortunately I've no experience at all with those mods to make blueprints, that's why I don't add any in my publications here in Valheimians. Maybe if i get more practice in the future I could add it here, but don't get high hopes, I'm very lazy to tinker games beyond vanilla (I rather use that time to keep building more 😅).

I'm a sucker for a great entrance, and this one definitely qualifies.

Well, yeah, thanks! Maybe bigger than greater; I'm bad doing spectacular or flashy buildings, I tend to more practical and direct designs in general. It's basically 2 big hollow square columns with starts inside and a flat bridge. The different layers of stone, if placed with regular controlled snap points, help a lot to make it look more fancy that what really is. Black marble and other materials here and there helps adding color accents to what otherwise would be a plain boring same texture monolith.

That's also why I added those small pieces of wood inlay in the wall. The initial design of the wall was more complex but I had to simplify it to reduce instance count. Those small pieces of wood at least give a bit of "salt". I'm testing damaging on purpose a few stone pieces here and there; sometimes the color change that causes looks nice too
