It's a notable building that I think you could improve a look with a simple change: build the rock walls using alternate patterns instead on stacked vertically (as much as you can, not always is possible with the pieces we have). That single detail takes away a lot of the realism of the look you wanted when using a real building as inspiration. Specially on the exterior that can't have so many decorations and content as the interior to mitigate the effect.

I go either way when building castle walls. In this particular case I was going for the crisp linear lines. *even tho in the actual scottish building may differ.
