Rawcliffe Portal Annex

It has been a ABSOLUTE blast combing through our old worlds and harvesting our builds to save, refresh and share. Some were shown as is, many needed support and finishing from missing terrain, others got a polish or facelift, but every one sparked memories of countless playthroughs and fun times together. We may find more but will certainly build more….in future quests.


This build is the absolute heart of the Nick Rawcliffe Patreon server. You can see it as it is today in the last 2 pictures I included. I built this as a massive addition to an existing portal barn as we were expanding out the village. We just needed more space to have portals linking locations on the server. This was built in probable July 2021 and never had nor needed a refresh. You can see in the pictures it HEAVILY built into terrain and as such I was dreading making a blueprint knowing how much work it would take to make a stand-alone structure able to be placed on flat ground. But here we are and a fitting build for our 70th posting in 3 months.



We took the blueprint, placed in game and started fixing the side built into terrain, but NOTHING could fix that into and exterior that would be presentable. SO we duplicated it and attached them back to back. This gave the internal grotto which would leave room for even more portals. This structure supremely future-proofed as there is likely 130 portals as is with easy room for 50 more.



Once we connected them together it left massive vacant v-shaped gaps on the polar ends so we looked at our favorite tower from the Bunny build and pulled only that to see if it could fit the space. It seemed natural that a portal complex, which is likely placed near spawn, would benefit greatly from some space for beds so new Vikings spawning in can seek shelter during the first night, especially if the server has progressed to fuling mobs showing up in the dark.



We added some polish, worked on lightly addressing some roofing issues but wanted that the majority of this stayed is it is. The build techniques reflect and early period in our development and there is some sentimental value that goes along with it..

We hope you enjoy if you download and place this in your world. You will get a glimpse at the chaotic portal names used on our server over 5 years and names we had for places. We left those knowing you would be changing them as it lends itself to the historic significance of this build for us.
