    I have an article/video here on Valheimians that explains the installation and usage process.

    https://www.valheimians.com/article/full-guide-to-using-and-installing-the-planbuild-amp-infinity-hammer-mods-their-dependencies/

    Share what you've installed or done so far and I'm happy to help you get it working

    Hello PapuoftheHutt !

    Usually, mods stop working when an update comes out. If you are having problems; its probably because one of the mod installations is old. Typically you can fix all the problems by reinstalling the mods making sure you use the latest updated version

    I've heard of people using Vortex, Thunderstore, and Nexus to get mods. I haven't heard of anything particularly bad or good about any of them

    Signs. Oh, signs. I love them. I hate them. I must use them but they are easily overwritten with no way for me to track the writer.

    It would be incredibly useful if the player's name was recorded with the sign text. For example, if I edited a sign to say "Have a nice day", it would say "Have a Nice Day" -Jack (it would just put the character's name there)

    This is mostly for accountability. Somebody keeps replacing the signs with derogatory words and I have no way of knowing who! Even a serverlog event like "character x edited sign" would be awesome jajaja

    By the way, I'm writing this to braindump these features so I have a place to work more on them; I love IronGate and I don't expect anybody to consider any of this important. However, this allows me to make a mod in the future, and I'm sure I'll be able to address a lot of these issues with a server-side mod that is not required on the client end. I'm trying to keep things client side vanilla because a public server that requires mods is dead. A vanilla public server can be quite active with regular new players

    Wards are awesome. They would be even cooler if there was a way to make certain items ignore ward restrictions. Wards can be used to make interesting puzzles but because they stop everything in a huge radius its tricky to place them properly

    I saw your comment a while ago but I didn't say anything because at the time I did not know the answer!

    But, in my research for tomorrow's full PlanBuild tutorial video + article, I discovered the information you need so I will share it :)

    The terrain modification marker is one of the marker items, such as center point or snap point markers, which you place on your building sort of like you are adding another build piece. When you save the blueprint with the marker, the marker will vanish and be applied to your blueprint. So, when you place the blueprint, the ground will be adjusted differently depending on how high up or down (z value) you place the blueprint. If you place the blueprint below the ground, the terrain markers will cause the ground to make a hole. If you place the blueprint above the ground, the terrain markers will cause the ground to raise to make a cliff.

    For the terrain modification marker, it will bring the ground up to in that specific spot. You can further specify the radius of the terrain, as well as the paint it applies. Here are the variables. If I remember right you do this by placing the terrain marker, then selecting it to change the variables. (Taken from Planbuild mod page)
    • Shape: Set a circle or square shape.
    • Radius: Radius of the terrain mod operation.
    • Rotation: Rotation of the marker (only makes sense on the square marker).
    • Smooth: Add smoothing to the edges of the terrain modification.
    • Paint: Optionally set a new "paint" (Grass, Dirt, etc) to the ground when modifying the terrain.
    For your dock, you would place the terrain modifier where you want the raised earth support to be. You can kind of imagine the marker like an instant hoe, its like you leveled the ground, lowered it, or raised it to that specific spot.

    You can also make a special item, called the PlanHammer, which allows you to delete those individually. Additionally, you can use the console command "Forcedelete 1-100" (will delete everything in 1-100 units of the player, if you specify a larger number than 100 will be used instead)

    keep in mind forcedelete gets rid of everything in the range except terrain, so it might over-destroy things!

    Hello Eric :D Welcome!

    You can create a new build here, or find it yourself by navigating to the builds section and then clicking the upload button on the righthand side.

    https://www.valheimians.com/account/manage/builds/item/new/

    From there you can add your files. If you add the server files, you need to zip them together into a .zip archive. the upload only accepts Zip files or the planbuild files

    Don't underestimate PlanBuild though, I encourage you to upload both the world files and the planbuild files. People can use the files to put your building onto a dedicated server, which anybody without mods could join. Most people don't realize it but you can make a server with planbuild and then upload it to the dedicated server and anybody from vanilla valheim can join and look at everything even if they never use planbuild

    I've personally been doing this and most of the players on my server are from xbox so I know it works with them

    If you don't upload a planbuild file, then we can't put your asset into a server. Maybe you want that, maybe you don't!

    PlanBuild is a BepInEx plugin so you need to have both installed. I think you also need Jotunn as well.

    Hello there!

    The marble construction pieces are dope. I love that they are actually strong unlike the stone (most strong monsters make stone look like wood)

    I haven't quite gotten the hang of all the different shapes and whatnot though. I built a base out of them thinking I could fight the monsters on the roof, but I built the roof to low... so all the monsters AOE attacks destroyed all the furniture in the room beneath the roof without destroying the roof itself !

    Hogwash! You do not need to be the best to do anything. Put that being the best nonsense aside and share! Sharing what you build brings more joy into the game and will connect you with other builders. You won't regret it!

    This was quite interesting to read, now that Mistlands has been released. I thought it was funny how everything here is based off of the old world gen (which had skulls and spiderwebs).

    But then when Mistlands actually came out they changed that completely! You did get the insect part right though xD

    And the queen is basically a big spider boss, so you got that part right too!

    Hey there! Yes, you can enable devcommands on a server but you need to install a mod on the server itself and add you steam IDs as admins. The mod you need is called "Server Devcommands" https://valheim.thunderstore.io/package/JereKuusela/Server_devcommands/

    You'll need to install BepInEX first. BepInEx is basically a framework for mods. Most valheim mods require it.

    https://valheim.thunderstore.io/package/denikson/BepInExPack_Valheim/

    Good luck!

    I made some progress, but not as much as I would like. I found a mod called Proper Portals made by Crystal . The mod shortens the load time and makes zoning into crypts and whatnot instant. You can customize some of the features,such as item restrictions. Personally I like metal restrictions because it makes me go on awesome sailing adventures. But that's just me. Here are the fields you can customize...

    (Copy of the config file below)

    [Portal]

    ## Whether to allow using portals while carrying portal restricted items such as metals. Game default is false.
    # Setting type: Boolean
    # Default value: true
    CarryAnything = false

    ## The time it takes to fade the screen before teleporting. Teleporting does not start until after the screen fade completes. Game default is 1.
    # Setting type: Single
    # Default value: 0.5
    FadeTime = 0

    ## The minimum time to wait for a teleport to complete, in seconds. It can take longer if the target location needs to be loaded. Increase this if you have the issue of dropping in before loading completes. Game default is 8.
    # Setting type: Single
    # Default value: 0
    MinPortalTime = 0

    ## The distance at which a portal will start glowing and making noise when a player approaches it. Maximum accepted value is 10. Setting to 0 prevents portals from glowing or making noise at all. Game default is 3.
    # Setting type: Single
    # Default value: 2
    ActivationRange = 2
    .....
    This is good enough for me for now. Although, I would love to be able to get rid of the splash screen entirely for close portals. I haven't figured out how to do that since the immersive portals mod broke.

    Try to share some more details so that people can have an easier time helping you. Here are a few questions you can answer. Try to share some more details, then somebody will be able to fix your problem :)

    1) What mod are you trying to use?

    2) How did you setup your dedicated server?

    I've seen youtubers use snap points from wooden 1m beams. Basically you use the beams to create snap points where you want them.

    There are ways to do that, but I'm not sure what they are exactly. I've been visited by hacking players before who have access to all those commands on my own dedicated server. There was this guy named Thor who would just fly around and act like Thor and I was like woah dude

    One thing you can do, is start the server on your own PC then use your devcommands to spawn things. After that, you can upload the server to your hosting service. From that point you can't easily use devcommands anymore.

    I know a way to workaround that exists because of the dude who visited my server but I never found out how he did it
