A quick note to those who participated in our Official Build Contest: we're working hard to wrap up the judging and will have a winner announced by the end of the week this week. Everyone did such a great job with their entries. So, we're studying and taking notes on each and every one. Sit tight for a couple of more days and in the meantime have a nice big stein full of mead or beer and comment below what you've been working on in Valheim!

R.I.P wolf... this was the last photo I took before the smell of sulfur took him away from me. Thought I was just cataloging trophy progress and instead it's the saddest photo I've ever taken in Valheim. :D Ugh. Back to the mountains.

While taming our first wolf, we got a Fenring trophy!

Whoa... new Bonemass trophy absorbed our Drake trophy! Going to have to rearrange the collection and revisit the swamps to see him in the flesh.

Upgrading our boat dock for our new long boat from wood to stone and of course it must be extended. :D

Settling into the new long house...

Starting to setup our farm on the west side of our village. Village itself is coming together nicely. Boat house, blacksmith, storage house and workshop are on the east side. The Portal hub in the middle making it easy to come and go. You can see a basic cooking gazebo & fishing dock. After farm, it's time to setup a home. Been sleeping in the boat house :D

When you're trying to tune your sundial and it starts down pouring between the last 2 pegs...

My guesses below are way off, I took a screenshot at noon, timing 2m 15s and marking true hours in a photo editor where the markers SHOULD be. I'll probably never use it for its actual purpose, so I'm thinking of re-purposing the floor for a different building concept.

Sometimes you have to take a break and appreciate what you've already accomplished.

If you're interested in a Builder-focused server, give me a holler! I have set up Builderheim with a Welcome Center at the Altar Stones (where everyone starts), including a Crafting Center, a dock, and a portal hub to distant lands (well, across the water, off the small starter island)! I would like to offer ample building supplies and equipment, as well as a chill place to play, focused mainly on building cool places, but also exploring. I am thinking about offering Building classes/help as well. Trader has been located and a portal is available. As the server matures, we'll take on the Bosses... I have not yet conquered any of them on this world. Please, no modding or nonconsensual PvP/raiding (I will boot and ban). As a conservationist, I am not against the mass-importation of raw building materials.... to preserve the landscape/view.

There I was, running through the Black Forest at night, just emerged into the Meadow, atgeir in hand, when I heard the sound of skeletons spawning/clanking, and I was like, 'Fun, lets dance!' I turn, and there's Odin standing off in the distance! I ran at him 'til he disappeared, THEN dealt with the skellies he brought.HAIL ODIN!

Re-purposing finished dungeons and cave entrances...

One of my Black Forest bases needed some fire protection. I call it the Bonfire Pinecone :)

Valheim sailing adventures! The world on my server has a small starting island (on purpose). I want people to be able to get elsewhere promptly, so I am building a portal hub! so far about 10 hours working on it. A glimpse of that here, and build pics later, but to get elsewhere, someone needs to place a similarly named portal in that other place and name it appropriately. I finally found where to get the ancient bark, and so crafted myself a Viking longboat, stripped to the bare essentials so as not to lose any important gear, hailed Odin, and went off on my first sailing adventure to discover new lands in this world! I laid a gate on the first big landmass to the west, 'Westlands', and then sailed north... strangely, there is like nothing there.... then I came upon a tiny Swamp Island, and a little further north a Black Forest/Plains islands. I hopped out at the plains, unaware it was the Plains and the goblins nearly killed me before I made it back to my boat!! I sailed around to the far side of the island just a storm kicked up!! Thinking better of continuing (and its after midnight), I landed my ship and put down a gate, labeled it '1' and ported to the first available gate at my hub, and scooted back home, leaving the longship so I can return and sail onward from there. Too much fun!!
