Welcome! I've yet to try debug mode and won't until finishing the 5th boss but I'm constantly running out of materials. Creative mode will be fun.

Each main cabin I've built is very unique and it's not that I'm trying to make them different. I like that depending on terrain, how long we spend in one spot, available resources, types of danger around us and of course lessons learned from past builds results in a completely different living area.

Amazing game.

Welcome fellow Valheimian! I just visited the first builds you shared with us and looking forward to seeing where your style takes you next. Going to adapt some of the details into my own builds. Think will spend more time on it when it's less of a camp to progress and more of a town to settle into :D

Looks very fortified, organized and great location! I like the island view. The one tall tree in the back cracks me up for some reason.

Welcome Ezra! Always nice to see another building focused player join us :D Hope you share a few of your builds. You don't have to upload the vbuild file. Images are fine!

I have Minecraft roots and while Valheim is very different it pings similar creative nodes in my brain. I like the rapid tear down in Valheim though. Allows for quick revisions and expansions. It is also relaxing to build when it's in stark contrast to dying in the Swamp. Currently fermenting our first batch of poison resistance mead. Now I'm expanding our Ore camp to include a brewery :D

Welcome Auri! Thanks for the mead. What is one of your current building projects?

I started a sundial as a fun build but it doesn't seem to cast a shadow with a range that is useful. My sundial is pointed due north, assuming north is straight up on the map. Will watch it again when I return from adventuring and see if it can be adjusted to have a more dynamic shadow range. I think... writing this out, I may have misread which way a sundial points... I probably have it pointed due south. I must fix!

edit: Hmm. It seems I have the correct orientation. huh.

It's optional for members to save and upload downloadable build files. You can browse all Valheim builds with downloads by selecting the filter.

I did for my Reddit Alien and I think it will become more popular as more people become aware that you can even save and share them.

We wrote a tutorial on BuildShare to help.

I'm all for no cheats. I don't think I'll switch to "creative / debug mode" until we've beaten the 5th boss. Fully enjoying not rushing the game. I'm type of gamer that tries to do everything before moving on... which will likely mean we're over powered by the time we do move forward. I say we because I play with my wife, Valheimians, and younger bro, Katahdin.

I don't know if yours will be a private server but we'll likely add a server section in coming weeks. Didn't want to launch with too many "empty" sections.

Communities/Building Question Regarding Thatching Round Buildings

That's a challenging roof to cover with current thatching options. I think you did a great job with what you've got available though. Building is solid design, should be "easy" to update.

As you mentioned, hopefully the Hearth and Home update adds both basic building blocks along with whatever they must have planned to dedicate an entire update to. I love that the first major planned update is going to focus on builds.

I really like how the center beams cross together at the very top to make a chimney!

Welcome! Game is addictive even in it's busy work like gathering resources, hunting and exploring. I'm playing on a private server as well. We've currently got a flow going to process all the ore and it's fun just keeping everything fired up. Coal is current bottle neck.
