I was of a similar mindset until I saw some of DhakhaR and Artyfacts' modded builds. Definetly not something an average builder can pull off!

Safest place for a base is a nice, big patch of meadows near the sea, or perhaps build IN the sea by raising the ground first.

Now, if you like to live dangerously, I recommend using some of those large pillars in the Plains biome and build around them. You can do some really impressive bases that way.

history

There are some items in the game that produce lighting and don't require refill. Their lighting ofcourse is not as strong as torches, but it's better than nothing. The easiest one to build is the ward, but you could also try:

• fulling totems
• golem trophies
• swamp keys
• dragon eggs
• surtling trophies

In addition, you could make a surtling farm , which will make your Braziers the most resource-friendly refill ever.

I like the giant idea. Although I really would like it if a few of them actually roamed the surface. Imagine how awesome it would be running around and suddenly you see a giant walking in the distance.
I don't know how I feel about plain-old dark elves. Presonally I'd like to see something a bit larger, and more grotesque, something that screams danger! Maybe a sort of mutation between greydwarves and dark elves? Is there any other creature in Norse mythology that fits the dark theme of mistlands?


Personally...
...I still have hopes that the boss will be a massive spider. Maybe it's the spider king, waiting for a chance to take revenge for what the Giants did to his kin. The spiders are gone, and their king imprisoned? Maybe Odin had a hand in the giants defeating the spiders, so now their king hates him? Although the double boss sounds interesting too.

I have a sneaking suspicion that IF they ever decide to add extra rotations to items, that alone will take them several months to implement.

As much as I want more building stuff, I doubt that Iron Gate is going to focus that much on them in the near future. We might get a few new bits each big patch, but I don't expect our building options to double in a single patch, that's focused on a new biome no less.

I do agree on the placement ranges for the upgrades being silly. It limits creative options so much when you try to make your build useable.

"I would love to have a play session with you at some point in the future." - You might get quite bored. All I do in hearth and home is fly around and build in creative mode. And thinking... Lots of thinking.

Thinking about this in hindsight, it was probably stupid and pointless of me to put a time limit... might make a new one in the future...who knows.

I have no clue of what this game is or its history with addons, but I assume they enhanced the game quite a bit?

I don't wanna be that guy, but with the way things are going, we'll be lucky to get 2 updates by the end of the year. That being said, if the quality is up to par I don't mind them taking their time.
