What started with a shipwreck and a hammer turned into something much bigger — Driftwood, a small outpost where every home has a purpose and the wall itself tells a story.
The build began with a simple wall across the shoreline, but soon grew into something more — four unique homes, a dock, and a bulwark that shapes the character of the town while keeping it safe.
Driftwood isn’t about scale or grandeur. It’s about rhythm, community, and creating a place that feels lived in. Each home has its own quirks and personality, from experimental layouts to cozy details, and together they form a settlement with heart.

Have something to say?
Seriously though, thanks for the wonderful note. I really enjoy the whole process, from building to scripting, to filming and editing. Though the real treat is how awesome the Valheim community is. I've never seen anything like it.
With you on the community aspect tho it seems like it was much bigger before. Bigger is not always better I know but it wouldve been nice to have more content :) Lets chalk it up to quality over quantity!
It's funny you mention pausing building, because I have the opposite problem right now. I need more time to build! The next project I'm going to feature is one a literally just completed and have been chipping away at over months.
Quantity of quality for sure, but I do believe many folks are taking a time out before 1.0. I really hope Iron Gate delivers on Deep North, because 1.0 can bring so many to Valheim.
On one hand it seems foreign to work on different projects simultaneously but I suppose it doesnt differ much from working on seperate sections in the same build. I'm happy its becoming fall so I feel less bad about spending a lot of time holed up in the base :) Sure hope you find more time to build. No selfish reason whatsover...
Like compulsive builder said theres new wood coming but I would also like different iterations of the old materials. I need a 1 meter corewood so bad. The thing that would help me the most though, is just plain optimization. Currently at 17-18k instances and having to lower my graphics to have it be playable. Thats my biggest wish for 1.0.
Been mainly building for so long I'm almost starting to forget how to play the actual game. I'll have to look into that pre 1.0 ^^ Would be my first major 'patch'. Started after ashlands.
I would welcome some more players. More people to share with and get inspo from.
I fear how many buildings I'll want to retrofit with some new items and build pieces when north arrives. ^_^U
