Procedural Roads: Adding Roads to the Valheim Wilderness


One of the most interesting things about Valheim is how much the world feels like a place you have to slowly understand. You explore, get lost, recognize landmarks, and eventually build your own relationship with the terrain.

Procedural Roads by Warpalicious, adds a new layer to that experience by generating roads throughout the Valheim world. Instead of the wilderness being only forests, hills, rivers, and scattered points of interest, this mod can create paths that connect locations together.

That makes it especially useful for nomap and noportal playthroughs, where navigation matters much more. Roads give players something natural to follow. They can help guide exploration, make the world feel more connected, and create the feeling that the land has an older history before the player arrived.

The mod is also configurable. Players can adjust how many roads are present, how wide the roads are, and how hard the pathfinding system tries to create connections.

Another useful feature is support for custom locations. If you are using locations from other mods, or adding your own locations through Expand World Data, those locations can also be included in road generation.
