Temple of Time – Valheim Vanilla Build
This is my take on the Temple of Time from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, recreated in Valheim.
The build was created on a multiplayer server, so there is no download available yet. Everything was built purely in vanilla Valheim, without any mods. All building materials were fully farmed by us – with the help of three fellow players, but the entire construction itself was done by me.
I intentionally scaled the building down slightly compared to the original. This was done to save resources, improve structural stability, and achieve the right overall look – especially the front arches, which were very important to me visually.
⏱️ Build time: approximately 30 hours
🎮 Inspiration:
I’m a huge Ocarina of Time fan, and the idea for this build came very naturally. I kept the Citadel classic and close to the N64 version, but I can imagine optimizing or reworking it later with inspiration from the 3DS version as well.
I’m also very happy that Valheim allows us to plant pink plants – this detail alone makes the atmosphere feel much closer to the original Temple of Time, and really helped to sell the iconic look.
As a small but important reference to the original game, I represented the three Spiritual Stones required to open the door by placing three matching torches in front of the entrance.
The Temple of Time serves three main purposes:
🌊 Moat:
Of course, a water moat was mandatory. Creating it cleanly was surprisingly tricky, but absolutely worth it.
🗼 Towers:
All small towers are fully accessible, though some paths are a bit challenging.
🏗️ Roofs:
The tower roofs are currently made of marble. With the latest update, I’m hoping for better, more fitting roof options. If not, I might adjust this later – possibly even with mods.
I’m still relatively new to Valheim, and I wanted to experience and finish the game entirely in vanilla first, without mods. That said, I’m pretty sure I’ll use mods eventually – especially since I’ve already seen that a Master Sword mod exists.
So far, I haven’t built a Triforce yet. I haven’t found a design that really does it justice, but once I figure that out, it’s definitely planned.
The build isn’t 100% finished yet, but it’s absolutely presentable.
Once everything is complete and I know how to do it properly, I may also provide a download in the future.

Functions of the Temple
The Temple of Time serves three main purposes:
Armory
A place to epically display weapons. I haven’t crafted every weapon yet, but the goal is to eventually have all weapons and shields displayed here. Armor is stored elsewhere.
Private Living Space
The Citadel is also my personal hub: I switch armor here, eat, rest, and sleep. A bed is already placed – I just need to find a proper, fitting spot for the fire.
Portals Through Time
Since this is the Temple of Time, I placed portals inside the Master Sword chamber that lead to our old bases and camps. They function as portals to the past – useful for farming and also for revisiting our progress over time.
