Thomashof and the legend of Thomas

This was a post-Hearth and Home build in our early days that has rich lore and has been mildly refreshed. As the story goes, we were preparing for a server stream, and Thomas logged in but was immediately killed by a deathsquito. He was in a rush and had no idea where he had logged out last, so had no idea where he had died. We tried to help him locate his tombstone but alas, poor Thomas rage-quit in frustration, never to be heard from again.

His frustration was understandable, you see Thomas had started on the server only 5-6 weeks earlier but had chosen to build his base in a mountain close to MANY drake spawns that constantly plagued him. His time on the server had never been relaxing for this reason, so by the time he was finally about to be on his first server stream, the body-recovery struggle proved to be too much.

Weeks later, we found his tombstone, only a short distance from a settlement with many portals. We passed by it many times for months, vowing some day to pay him tribute. Hence the construction of Thomashof. What is even more interesting is that we were able to build this around his very tombstone, carefully dropping it onto the throne you see in the pictures. On the server, his tombstone still contains his weapons and armor. We enshrined him and his memory here, with stained-glass windows spelling his name and a giant drake mural using Drake trophies, carefully hand placed, to pay tribute to his many weeks of suffering to the sound of their screams.

Thomas didn't deserve the harassment from those many, many spawn of Moder, nor did he deserve the sudden impalement from that menace from the Plains. He was worthy and in his honor we say SKOL! Hail brave, brave Thomas. May he rest in Valhalla, basking in the light of the all-father forever!
