You've finished your latest mead hall, the roof is all looking great but WAIT - you forgot about the smoke! now how are you supposed to keep your mead hall beautiful? Not to worry; with one single piece of wood you can allow the smoke out, without letting the fireplace go out!
The design is simple. Leave a 2x2 hole in the center of your roof; or off to the side. Place one 45 degree wood beam that is lined up exactly with the corner roof pieces. Technically one is all you need to block the rain but two looks better. Do not use all four corners because this will trap the smoke.
Have fun and enjoy the video!
