If you're a Valheim player looking to up your building skills and fortify your base, building a stone wall is a great way to go! Not only is it practical and made for combat, but it's also a great way to show off your creativity and appreciate simpler times.

To start building your stone wall, you need to be in the iron age, which means you need at least one stonecutter. Luckily, all you need are two iron bars to make stone stuff from the very beginning of the iron age. And boy, will you need a lot of stone. A simple wall might only require a hundred or so stones, but a beautiful, extravagant one might require over a thousand stones. So, get to gathering!

Building a wall is a piece of cake once you learn the basic pattern. Start by placing two big stone walls back to back, then wrap them with a layer of 2x1 stone walls. And if you want to be extra fancy, offset each layer by one for a really cool pattern.

Now, it's time to add the top part. The top starts with a base of three stone tiles side by side. Each of the tiles half overlaps the edge to create a larger platform than the base of the wall. On the edges of this platform are the battlements. These are what give your wall the silhouette of a castle and play an important role in the visual feel of the wall. Plus, in Valheim these can actually help defend you from goblin spears and draugr arrows. Think of them as shields from projectiles.

Theres a few more things you can do to spice the wall up! Trim the wall by placing stone arches underneath the overlapping stone tile layer. This trim makes your walls pop and shows some curves which are always fun.

Constructing your walls this way means you can hollow them out and make a base inside. It might sound extreme, but you'll need some space for hallways, doors, and stairs, so this interior space ends up being very useful. Plus, it's always good to have a secret hideout for when things get dicey.

If you want a stronger wall, then everything can be replaced with black marble using the same design. The only exception is the trim. You'll have to make your own black marble trim because the arch is a different shape. But hey, if you're building a black marble wall, you're clearly a Valheim pro.

In conclusion, building a stone wall in Valheim is not only practical but also a great way to have fun and practice your creativity.

Have fun and enjoy the video!
