They allow you to travel between different parts of the game world and are a vital tool for any player looking to explore, gather resources, or engage in combat. However, portals can also be vulnerable to monster attacks, and in this tutorial, we'll be exploring some examples of portals falling to the dangers of the game. Let's get started!
There are two main things to keep in mind to keep your portals safe. 1) Enemies can damage your portals by seeing them through line of sight and 2) through area-of-effect attacks.
Portals attract enemies by sight. If the enemy can see the portal, they move to destroy it. To avoid damage make sure to build objects that break the line of sight. If the enemy cannot see the portal it will not attack it or objects nearby.
That being said, it is possible for an enemy to gain line of sight to a portal by destroying nearby objects with aoe attacks. These aoe attacks can destroy the portal through its defenses even if the target not the portal.
To counter the aoe attacks you must keep the portal's defenses thick enough so the portal is out of reach. Have fun!
