Vanlandi
The village of Vanlandi lies in the northern parts of Sudurhold. Founded long ago by Sventi the Wise, Vanlandi rose around the ancient shrine of Eikthyr, a place where the Forsaken were not feared, but worshipped. For this, they were cast out of the Realm’s favor. Other Holds raided them. Bragi Keep sealed off the southern crossing and decided to fortify the crossing to ensure the people of Vanlandi would remain south. The meadows grew wild, the shrine still stood, worn but unbroken. However, with time the village fell silent and Vanlandi became a ghost falling to ruin.
Vanlandi was rediscovered and given a new purpose. A new Jarl rose from the ashes of the once isolated village and reformed the worship of Eikthyr not as feared curse but as a worthy idol. Here, every outcast finds a home, every voice is heard, and every scar is honored. Its people are defiant, stubborn, joyful, and untamed. They accept all, break for no one, and greet hardship with a laugh, a joke, and a sharpened blade. "Odin may break forms and forge rules, but he will never command the wild." The meadowlands bloom, the shrine burns bright, halls ring with laughter, and the wind carries the name. Vanlandi has arisen again. The blacksmith rings once again, wolves wander freely and without worry, and the meadows of Surdurhold once again found a purpose.
