Leechwater Keep

When Surdurhold Alliance needed iron to rebuild Vanlandi, a mining company was sent out to the many crypts in Witherdeep Swamp as Bonemass was causing massive threat in Dauðmýri, the swamp just south of Ysoldahall. The mining party failed to return and all contact was lost, so Jarl Potatoes herself led a search party only to find the fallen vikings near a crypt in black waters full of leeches. The dead were burned where they lay. The expedition took a dangerous turn when the leeches swarmed the recovery party as if something sinister was sending them to attack. After the long battle, Jarl Potatoes ordered a permanent stronghold be raised to keep watch over the swamp and help protect the miners. The name Leechwater comes from the ongoing assault from the leeches. Leeches thrive there and the soldiers bear many scars from the battles with them. Service at Leechwater is considered a hard posting, but an honorable one. The keep is commanded by Strykr Leechbane, appointed by Jarl Potatoes herself after his bravery in the recovery party battle. He earned his name dragging wounded Vikings from leech filled waters while taking out an impressive amount at the same time. Under his command, the Keep stays steady and strong, guarding Witherdeep from all the creeps and slithers in the long days and nights. The keep has a commander's tower, a barracks, an inn, and a blacksmith. You are welcome to stop on in and visit, just be wary of the bite of the leech!
