I dunno if this is a good idea, to ask others for contributions to this base build. Nevertheless I'll do it, as I would love some help with the design of the top floor. This is an old project, longtime WIP. I have been posting about it here earlier, but it is not and has never been a complete build. Partly because I have expectations about IG releasing more pieces and materials to have fun with.
This base was from the start meant to be a very large base with everything you need to play through Valheim. It is also very consciously designed to be open and easy to get around, to have a somewhat practical base for daily driving. I got a bit eager when making the spiral ground floor, and I confess its probably bigger than it needs to be - but I ended up loving the ambience and feel of BigSpiralHouse 9000 (BSH9k).
My main idea for the remaining space on the top floor would be the biggest bedroom yet, maybe there’s even room for 2 more. There can be a balcony or outcrop to extend space even further.
I've been trying for a long time to make the last room - or even anything else entirely up there - but all my efforts have been for naught. I dunno if it's because I just cannot figure out how to make Grausten look nice, or if I just hit a wall after finishing that 7th bedroom. I am very pleased with that room though, and that I was able to build with so much marble up here … but I had to use internal ironbeams to reinforce that wall. So it takes some engineering effort to build with heavy materials up here.
I would love it if any of you builders and designers out there would care to take a look at it. Or even install it through Planbuild and build something awesome on the top floor. Be it an 8th bedroom, or something else entirely if you're inspired to do so. It must not be in Grausten at all … anything is allowed. If you wanna delete or rebuild is all up to you, and please share any improvements with the community.
The blueprint is huge, needs a big round flat space - but Planbuild can help with landscaping before placement.
It can kill framerates, depending on your hardware.
Planbuild says 12500 pieces.

Best regards, Håkon
Sorry for long and shaky video, see earlier posts for more details about the build.

Have something to say?
It took a longlong time, with lots of teardowns and rebuilds, to get the house to be what it is today.
- Inlay wood/ashwood beams and poles. They are slightly wider than the grausten wall pieces, so it will allow you to trace color lines in big plain zones.
- damage on purpose grausten pieces so their texture will have cracks, in some cases it gives that grausten the look of several rocks placed in crude masonry; change a lot the looks of regular grausten
- Leverage the lots of snap points of grausten pillars and beams to add patterns in several layers. Saphonete uploaded a YT video with lots of ideas for complex looking designs for walls using grausten, it's pure gold for highly decorated zones.
