Hi folks,
I've been playing Valheim on & off, since Aug 2021. About 2,220 hrs so far (as of today 9 Jun 2025).
Mostly with close friends in sandbox mode, solo or private server play.
The building aspect is definitely the most fun part for me.
I'm really excited about the upcoming Deep North biome update.
Can't wait to see all the new build pieces.
That will likely complete all the Biomes in Valheim, and I'm definitely looking forward to it.
In the joyful spirit of this upcoming milestone, I have decided to start posting a series of videos over the next few weeks on what I've been building by myself, in my top secret gaming hideout (just kidding).
As it is, I had embarked on a little kingdom building (or maybe an empire) for the past few years.
Planning out different provinces, settlements & a general masterplan I guess.
I figured for a start, why not start the first video upload at the Spawn area (kinda like an Ancestral Residence Castle for all my characters).
Where it all began for me.
It's a simple motte-and-bailey castle design with a shell keep.
I was inspired by these earlier fortification designs in the 10th century+, in keeping with the spawn area as an entry area for new characters to my map.
Quaint & simple, the entire spawn area is ringed off with walls & perfectly safe for newbies.
Just waltz over next door into the castle for a warm bunk to sleep in. With food, armour & crafts workshops all in the same complex.
A night's rest stop if you will, before starting off the next morning to explore the map.
What follows will be video walkthroughs of what I have built in the Spawn area's surrounding areas.
And then I will jump to the Traders' areas, where I have built a series of defensive structures around good old Haldor, Hildir & the Bog Witch.
Afterwards, the next few lots of videos I shall post will likely not be in any linear fashion.
I will meander through the many random buildings I've built.
