The New Gullalder
The Realm of Rhovanion has entered a new Golden Age. The Wrath of Forsaken had shaken the core of the Realm as the hordes of the cursed followers have riddled the countryside causing havoc wherever they saw fit. From the city streets of Thorongil, the ruins of Jarnvidr, the hills of Mjollhall to the forested lands of Nordurhold…. the Forsaken struck deep within Rhovanion. Much of the damage that was dealt from such foes have been sought out and defeated, healing the land we once held. Still, amongst the ruins & smoke, arose a new chapter within our Realm. As Yuletide approached, current Jarls & vikings reached out and brought forth new travelers to this land. Rebuilding the long lost lands of the Outer Regions, constructing grand structures atop mountains and valleys, and conquering the lands of the First Age.
The reclamation of Jarl Isle was the final act of cleansing from the Great Schism from earlier in the year. The City of Almaren, which once housed one of the Exiled Jarls, has found itself under siege from Fader’s forces for months prior to the Wrath of Forsaken. It has now been reclaimed by a new viking and the lands of Jarl Isle in Noraustia have officially been welcomed back into the Realm. Almaren has also been renamed to Sjostrand and its origin name has been struck from the records. The southern lands of Nordurhold have been claimed by a new arrival, with the ruins of Eorlhall & Mimir now being rebuilt to bring the hold back into the fold. The Coalition of Njordr Hill have returned and have decided to reach out to the Outer Regions and head north towards Mytgaard. Their current claims of the cluster of Isles with the Realm have reached their limit and now they seek new glory in the Northern Reaches.
The Surdurhold Alliance continues to grow in strength. Their claims in Etelainen have seen a recent era of prosperity, and their jewel, Vanlandi, has developed into a mini-city of sorts on Surdurhold's coast. The Jarl of that city has built, and continues to build grand structures and buildings that are worth a visit to anyone who are granted within the city walls. Following the rebuilding of Tyr’s Landing and Iverstead within Vesturhold, the rising Jarl has branched out and sought out lands not within the Realm. Settling down in between the lands of Storfjell and Sor’Glatauland, while still keeping roots back in Rhovanion, the Jarl has begun to create a new settlement within the lands Gleipuir Isles.
The Hulda Styrkr Pact have arrived in force and conquered lands in the Tirfjard from the Forsaken holdouts within the region. Laying claim to the lands of Voluspa, Hladgudr, and Alftrollholm, the vikings of the Pact have done well to carve out new claims and make a home for themselves within the frontier lands. Tirfjard is known to have the most lands corrupted by the Mistlands, thus the members of this pact will have to continue to fight for it. Larshold was also established within this lands by a independent viking who sailed into the dangerous lands of that region and set up new borders to guard their new home.
The Jarl of Hrafnhold joined in the venture and sailed as far south as allowed before crossing into the cursed Ashlands. Finding an isle on the cusp of Sor’Glatauland and the Burning Sea, the foundation of a mighty fortress has been laid, Fort Hothbrodd. Maedhroshold has seen a new era as it has the land and has seen numerous settlements rise up from the dilapidated state it was in prior to autumn.
As we ready ourselves for the deep plunge that the Deep North brings, there is still work to be done. Fader still remains at large within the Realm, and his presence endangers all those who cross paths with him. As we speak, adventurous jarls/vikings have stumbled upon forward encampments and remnants of Forsaken. The Realm has entered the Gullalder Era, and we shall venture forth into the new dawn. Skol.
